SAMSUNG GALAXY S6 SMOKES ON CHINA AIRLINES FLIGHT|三星手機又出包 GalaxyS6華航班機上自燃

發布時間: 更新時間:
Yesterday, another explosion involving a Samsung phone occurred on board a China Airlines Flight. However the phone in question this time was not Galaxy Note 7, which had been recalled worldwide and pulled from Samsung's production line. Instead, it was a Galaxy S6. In fact, this was not the first time that Galaxy S6 caught fire. Previous explosions of the model have been reported in the UK, the US, and China. The Aviation Safety Council confirmed that the German passenger was charging his phone at the time. A Samsung Galaxy S6 began to smoke during a China Airlines' flight from Palau to Taiwan. The flight attendants immediately put the phone in an ice bucket. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the flight was not delayed. ==THOMAS WANG, Aviation Safety Council Executive Director== The passenger was charging the cell phone when it started to smoke. The phone was dropped to the ground, and the flight attendants put out the fire. We have retrieved the black box and the phone in question for further examination. There have been numerous cases of safety concerns with Samsung cell phones. The Galaxy Note 7 has caused over 100 fire and explosion incidents and has been banned in domestic and international air travel. There have also been multiple fire reports of Galaxy S6, which was released last April. Experts said these cases may have been due to old or poor-quality non-original battery, and many people are concerned. ==MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC== I'm worried it would cause panic since the airplane is a closed space. It may cause other to panic as well. ==MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC== I'm concerned with any cell phone components made by Samsung. The Aviation Safety Council said it was the second case of airplane lithium battery fire in Taiwan, and it has been listed on record as an aviation incident. The will investigate the case and publish their findings by the first quarter of next year. Samsung said they will fully cooperate with the investigation.
