MARIA SHARAPOVA WINS APPLEAL, RETURNS TO COURT NEXT APRIL|莎拉波娃禁賽縮短期限 明年返球場

In international sports, Maria Sharapova, who was originally suspended for two years, has appealed to shorten her penalty to 15 months. Sharapova made a statement saying that she can't wait to return to the tennis court. The suspension for Sharapova had started from January 26, 2016 until April 26 of next year. She will be able to compete in the French Open. Russian hacker group Fancy Bears hacked into the website of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). They released the confidential medical records of 20 Japanese Rio Olympic athletes including table tennis player Ai Fukuhara. Japanese women table tennis team had won the bronze medal in the Rio Olympics. Fukuhara was alleged for taking prednisolone, a steroid for treating inflammation, asthma and arthritis. According to Japanese media, every Japanese Olympic athlete took medication with doctor's prescription. Japan Table Tennis Association had stated that WADA has the responsibility to protect athletes' confidential records.
