ITALIAN AUTHORITIES CRACK CRIME SYNDICATE|義破獲黑幫假慈善名 侵吞難民收容經費

On May 15, Italian authorities said a crime syndicate has been running one of Europe's largest refugee centers for more than a decade, in the process making millions of euros. 68 suspects, including one priest, have been arrested. This refugee center in Italy's southern province Crotone is accommodating 1,500 refugees from Africa. However the center is actually operated by Italian mobsters using Roman Catholic charity organization as a cover to defraud millions of state euros. Italian police ended its undercover investigation and launched morning raids on May 15. 68 suspects were arrested including a priest. ==GIUSEPPE GOVERNAL Head, Special Police Ops. Police stated, Italy's largest organized crime group Arena dan of the Ndrangheta mafia has been laying its fingers over the refugees center. In the past ten years, the mafia group has taken up a third of one hundred million euros and left refugees hungry.
