AIRPORT MRT WILL OPEN WHEN ALL STANDARDS MET|機捷可用度達標 盼明年二.三月通車

On November 21, Taoyuan Metro Corp announced that the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport MRT line finally passed stability tests. The line is expected to be fully operational by February or March next year, with fares between NT$150 and NT$170 from Taipei Main Station to the airport. In the near future, travelers will be able to check in to their flight at the Taipei Main station. There will be an automatic luggage check-in system and check-in counters to make traveling more convenient. On Nov. 21, MOTC Minister Hochen Tan took an inspection tour to Taoyuan International Airport MRT station. Over the past week, tests on the MRT airport line's stability have reached 99.52 percent, surpassing the 99 percent threshold for a preliminary inspection. The line can now be certified by a third party inspection agency for safety. ==HOCHEN TAN, MOTC Minister == After the safety of the line is assured, we will move forward to the next stage. The MOTC together with professional advisors will conduct several inspections. We will continue to work towards our goal to meet the scheduled launch time in the first half of the year. The MOTC said the line is expected to open in February or March next year. They will seek advice from the inspection committee.
