Chinese students react to withdrawal of subsidy / 須全額自付健保費 陸生們看法不一　　　　　　　　　　

It has been decided that Chinese students will soon be covered by the National Health Insurance, like all other international students currently are in Taiwan. However, in the future, the government will no longer subsidize health insurance for overseas students, which means that they will be solely responsible for a monthly bill of NT$1,249. While some Chinese students welcome the change, others hope the government can continue to provide subsidies, since students often do not have income. Taiwan government had decided to cover Chinese students under the National Health Insurance, just like other overseas community and foreign students. The officials from the Ministry of Education said, many Chinese students hope to be covered by the National Health Insurance, therefore higher premium will not discourage Chinese students from applying schools in Taiwan.
