President Tsai Ing-Wen reiterates the four NO'S / 蔡國慶談話 籲對岸正視中華民國存在

President Tsai Ing-wen delivered her first speech in the National Day ceremony. She reiterated her new Four Nos Policy and did not mention 92 Consensus. President Tsai had emphasized her cross-strait policy is maintaining the status quo. She urged China to respect the existence of the Republic of China, both sides should sit down as soon as possible to engage in positive dialogue. It was President Tsai Ing-wen's first National Day ceremony and address after her inauguration. When President Tsai addressed cross-strait relations, she once again reiterated the "New Four Nos Policy." ==TSAI ING-WEN, ROC President== Although cross-strait relations have seen ups and downs in the past months, our position remains consistent and firm. Our pledges will not change, and our goodwill will not change. But we will not bow to pressure, and we will of course not revert to the old path of confrontation. President Tsai had emphasized her cross-strait policy is maintaining the status quo, her administration will act in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of China, the Act Governing Relations between the People of the Taiwan Area and the Mainland Area, and other relevant legislations. President Tsai urged mainland Chinese authorities to face up to the existence of the Republic of China, and to set aside the baggage of history.
