MINISTRY REVIEWS NEW PTS BOARD NOMINEES|公視新董事會 提名21人.通過11人

The Ministry of Culture reviewed the list of nominees for the 6th Public Television System Foundation Board of Directors and Board of Supervisors. A review committee of 15 members nominated by each party caucus considered the list for over 3 hours. To secure a nomination, a candidate has to obtain the votes of three quarters (3/4) of the attending committee members. Of the 21 nominees for directors, only 11 were approved. Two of the three supervisor nominees were approved. The legislature will need to nominate more candidate for the second round of the review. The review committee for Public Television System Foundation directors and supervisors convened on July 22. After 3 hours of deliberation and voting, 11 directors and 2 supervisors were approved. A total of 17 directors and 3 supervisors are required for the board. ==REVIEW COMMITTEE MEMBER== The review process was open and fair. We considered the list carefully, and 11 nominees were approved after two rounds of voting in accordance with the Public Television Act. 11 nominees for directors have been approved, including current directors Stan Shih, Cheng,Tzu-Leong, and Chen Yu-xiu, and other nominees representing public interest groups, new immigrants, media workers, and artists. Two of the three supervisor nominees were approved. ==CHENG LI-CHIUN, Minister of Culture== We hope the nominees are diverse. We will be nominating candidates for the second-round review. Out of the six current directors that were re-nominated, Tung Tzu-Hsien, Eric Yao, and Chen I-Heng have not been approved. The PTS Board still needs six directors and one supervisor. The Legislative Yuan will need to nominate more candidates for review. The review committee also called on the Legislature to consider diversity and gender balance in their nominations.
