Taoyuan Int'l Airport Prepares to Resume Normalcy 10/13起0+7上路 桃機將回復常態入境通關

The third phase of Taiwan's border reopening will take effect tomorrow with the implementation of the 0+7 plan. This means that Taoyuan International Airport will resume normal immigration clearance.

The 0+7 quarantine plan for inbound travelers will take effect on Oct. 13, and allow Taoyuan International Airport to resume normal immigration clearance. Arrivals will be allowed to take public transport, and taxis will charge fares according to their meters. Airport facilities such as observation decks will also reopen.

Fan Hsiao-lun, CEO, Taoyuan International Airport Corp.: “Once the last flights on Oct. 12 depart, all units will enter and get to work to sort out facilities. We will return to our pre-pandemic operations on Oct. 13.”

The airport forecasts 12,322 people will arrive, 6,238 people will depart, and 5,586 people will transfer on Oct. 13. There are 270 flights scheduled for that day. Meanwhile, duty free shops and eateries will progressively resume normal operations as the passenger volume increases.

Chan Cheng-chi, Spokesperson, Int'l Airport Business Dev. Assoc.: “We've reinforced workforces. Duty free shops are also offering nearly NT$30 million in cash rewards. Businesses are currently both expectant and fearful about what could happen.”

According to Airports Council International statistics, global air traffic between January and May this year was 53.9 percent of the pre-pandemic level. The International Airport Business Development Association said Taoyuan International Airport's current passenger volume is only 3.9 percent of the pre-pandemic level. Airport businesses and workers have suffered unprecedented pain during the past two or so years, and the association hopes the reopening can take place quickly.

配合國門逐步解封，13日實施入境0+7規定，桃園機場將回復常態入境通關、無症狀入境旅客可搭乘大眾運輸工具、排班計程車恢復跳表計費，觀景台等設施也回復常態開放。

桃園機場公司總經理范孝倫說明：「12號的晚班機，末班機離開了以後，各單位就會開始進場來做所有的一些設施等等的一個整理，13號的凌晨就要恢復到疫情前的所有狀態。」

根據桃園機場航班運量預報表顯示，13日將入境1萬2322人次、出境6238人次、轉機5586人次、客機270架次。自13日0時起，桃園機場將配合調整相關措施。而隨著機場人流回升，免稅店和美食街也將逐步回復原來營運規模。

桃機產業發展協會發言人詹成吉表示：「我們現在也加強人力的調度，另外免稅店業者也提供了現金回饋將近3000萬。業者目前為止呢，是既期待又怕受傷害。」

根據ACI國際協會組織統計，全球旅運量1至5月已經恢復到53.9%。桃園機場產業發展協會表示，桃園機場截至目前只有3.9%，疫情兩年多來，機場產業和勞工面臨史無前例的慘痛營運狀態，期盼加速解封，迎來生機。
