Cheng Yun-peng's Lead in Taoyuan a Surprise to KMT 民調指北市蔣萬安居冠 桃市鄭運鵬領先

The Broadcasting Corporation of China along with Gallup conducted a poll on the year end local elections for eight major cities and counties in Taiwan. 

In the latest political poll conducted by the Broadcasting Corporation of China radio station together with Gallup in eight major cities and counties in Taiwan, as the year-end local elections are drawing near, the KMT party is currently leading in Taipei, New Taipei cities and Yilan, while the DPP party is leading in Taoyuan, Keelung, Miaoli, and Penghu. In Hsinchu, the Taiwan People's Party, TPP, is leading. In the meantime, KMT is concerned with DPP's lead in Taoyuan. 

Jaw Shaw-kong, BCC Chairperson: “How could Chang San-cheng be losing? How is this possible? Lin Chih-chien even had a scandal. Chang is not as favorable among young voters according to the poll. It seems like Chang needs to work harder for Taoyuan.”

Hau Lung-pin, Former Taipei City Mayor: “The KMT party is falling behind with young voters by a lot. The party really needs to focus on winning young voters' support.”

The DPP is winning in six out of the eight cities and counties covered by the poll. Out of the three equally strong candidates in Taipei City, Chen Shih-chung is currently ranked third in support, while TPP's Kao Hung-an surpasses DPP's Shen Hui-hung and KMT's Lin Geng-ren by far. The election results to three major cities in the North, namely Taipei and New Taipei, and Taoyuan, would most likely affect Su Tseng-chang's premier position. 

Shih Cheng-feng, Professor, Dept. of Indigenous Affairs and Development, National Dong Hwa University: “President Tsai would probably worry about losing in greater Taipei. It is tough with just Chen Chi-mai heading to Kaohsiung. Cheng Wen-tseng's performance is crucial. If DPP loses Taoyuan, they may very well lose heading the Executive Yuan.”

Premier Su has been part of the forces in campaigning for DPP candidates nationwide. In response to critics saying that the Premier would lead the cabinet to resign en masse if DPP fails to win in the elections, Su said the party is to be responsible for election results, whereas his position as the Premier is just to lead the Cabinet well.

九合一選戰倒數，中廣與蓋洛普合作進行，針對指標及爭議的，北北桃，宜蘭、苗栗、澎湖、基隆、新竹等8個縣市進行民調，其中國民黨在雙北，宜蘭縣領先，民進黨桃園、基隆、苗栗、澎湖領先，新竹市則由民眾黨居冠，而桃園民調結果讓國民黨感到不樂觀。

中廣董事長趙少康說：「張善政怎麼會輸呢？怎麼可能呢？又是林智堅事件，這個民調張善政輸在年輕選民，看起來桃園對張善政來講，還要積極努力。」

前台北市長郝龍斌指出：「國民黨在年輕人這塊很明顯的是落後很多，而且年輕人在國民黨，以後選舉中要爭取支持，這是非常要注意的一件事情。」

調查的8個縣市中，政黨支持度6個縣市是民進黨領先，但台北市三腳督的情況下，陳時中則落到第3名，新竹市高虹安則遠超沈慧虹及林耕仁，而北三都的選情成敗也牽動閣揆保衛戰。

東華大學民族學系教授施正鋒表示：「小英倒是比較擔心，萬一台北沒有，光是靠陳其邁比較難一點點，所以鄭文燦你自己要表現，你如果桃園不能保的時候，你可能行政院長就沒有。」

行政院長蘇貞昌近來積極全國輔選，最後將回防北部，如果選情不理想，外界評估將內閣總辭，對此蘇貞昌回應，閣揆要保衛的是行政團體執行力與效率，不是選舉，選舉是黨部負責。
