NPP Calls on Lin Zi-miao to Withdraw, Resign 林姿妙涉貪遭起訴 時力籲誠實面對官司

Prosecutors indicted Yilan County Magistrate Lin Zi-miao and others including her daughter on Aug. 23 on corruption charges and other offenses. The New Power Party's Yilan headquarters said Lin should stop cheating Yilan's people, while the Democratic Progressive Party's Yilan County magisterial candidate accused Lin treated the county government like her own company.

Yilan County Magistrate Lin Zi-miao was indicted along with her daughter on land corruption and unknown source of property charges on Aug. 23. On Aug. 24, the New Power Party's Yilan headquarters got the party's legislator Chiu Hsien-chih to speak on its behalf. He said Lin should stop cheating the people of Yilan and truthfully face the lawsuit so that the county administration can go back to normal and Yilan functionaries can go back to being professionals.

Chiu Hsien-chih, Legislator (NPP): “First of all, Magistrate Lin Zi-miao should withdraw from the election. Second of all, Magistrate Lin Zi-miao should resign and step down.”

According to the statement of charges, the former head of the Economic Affairs Department and a trusted aide of Lin's named Wu Chao-chin played a key role in the corruption case. He has confessed some details and provided some clues, so prosecutors asked a court to pardon him. In his confession, Wu said Lin is very meddlesome and obeys whatever her daughter says. Democratic Progressive Party Yilan County magisterial candidate Chiang Tsung-yuan said during an interview with Greenpeace that he had always believed that Lin's daughter interfered too much in county affairs and claimed that Yilan has lost all its glory since Lin took office. He went on to say that people are now questioning Yilan's value and 6,000 people have moved away.

Chiang Tsung-yuan, DPP Yilan County Magisterial Candidate: “There's a great transport network, so why do people keep moving away? Everyone has doubts about Yilan's value and glory.”

Lin Zi-miao, Magistrate, Yilan County: “I said everything I wanted to say yesterday. This is an attempt to manipulate the election. They're shooting the arrow first and then determining the target.”

On Aug. 24, Lin attended a public event at an elementary school. She declined to answer questions about the lawsuit, saying she has already said everything she wanted to say and describing this turn of events as an attempt to manipulate the election. The Yilan County Council's KMT caucus issued a statement counterattacking the indictment and saying prosecutors presented a statement of charges that is not based on evidence and conforms to political persecution.

邱顯智說：「第一個，林姿妙縣長應該要退選；第二個，林姿妙縣長應該要辭職下台。」

根據檢方起訴書，林姿妙心腹、前建設處長吳朝琴，在貪瀆案裡扮演關鍵角色，他因坦承部分案情，也提供線索，檢方向法院求處免刑。吳還在自白中坦承，縣長林姿妙很多事都聽女兒林羿伶的。對手江聰淵接受綠色和平電台訪問時，就質疑林姿妙女兒干政太深，這幾年宜蘭已失去光榮感，人們對宜蘭價值產生質疑，導致人口流失6000多人，等於失去一個大同鄉的人口。

江聰淵說：「所以說有很好的交通，怎麼會人口一直外流？所以對宜蘭價值、宜蘭光榮，大家有質疑。」

林姿妙則表示：「我昨天已經都講過啦，這是在選舉的操弄，先射箭再畫靶。」

林姿妙24日上午到宜蘭國小出席公開活動，面對媒體追問官司，她低調不願多談，只說都已經講過了，這是選舉操弄，先射箭再畫靶。宜蘭縣議會國民黨黨團則發出聲明，反擊檢方起訴內容，並質疑檢方提供的是一份不按證據配合政治追殺的起訴書。
