Taipei Mayoral Candidates Comment on Lin's Thesis 北市選長選戰 話題交鋒林智堅論文風波

Before Lin's announcement, his controversy continued to dominate the Taipei City Mayoral election, with DPP candidate Chen Shih-chung saying everyone needs to provide facts . 

DPP Taipei mayoral candidate Chen Shih-chung's volunteers showed solidarity by waving flags and shouting. The controversy surrounding Lin Chih-chien's thesis continues to develop. Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je trolled Chen for saying he "believes his comrade first." Ko asked, "So you chose not to believe in National Taiwan University?" KMT Taipei mayoral candidate Chiang Wan-an also criticized the DPP and said it is not easy for them to tell the truth.

Chiang Wan-an, Taipei Mayoral Candidate (KMT): “I choose to support NTU. The DPP, including Chen Shih-chung, choose to support Lin, who plagiarized. Then let's let the people choose. I want to give my respect to city councilor Wang Shih-chien. It is difficult to say what is right and wrong in the DPP because the party is now ruling the country like a gang.”

Chen Shih-chung, Taipei Mayoral Candidate (DPP): “I have made myself very clear regarding Lin's situation and have never changed. Everyone needs to provide facts. This concerns everyone's reputation. To be honest, judging rashly is a bit unethical.”

Chen also used Ko's ECMO organ transplant controversy as an example, emphasizing that it is about personal reputation. He believes it is not good to draw conclusions without clear evidence. However, Taipei deputy mayor Vivian Huang trolled him, saying she doesn't know how to set an example for the next generation. In response to Lin's criticism of Chung Hwa University's academic review as being biased, Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je said he will wait for the university's results first.

Vivian Huang, Taipei Deputy Mayor: “I just saw this thing and thought to myself, how do I set an example for the next generation? I'll leave it to the public to decide for themselves.”

Ko Wen-je, Taipei Mayor: “Every DPP candidate from now on, drag them all out, and ask one by one whether they choose to believe in their comrade or National Taiwan University. Everyone has to answer. Now our entire country is waiting for Chung Hwa University's judgment, which should be out within a week.”

The three-way contest for Taipei's mayor is fierce. Wu Pi-chu, the honorary chairperson of Chiang's support association said bluntly that KMT members will not bail on their own candidate. She further analyzed that 25 percent of the undecided voters will be the key to the outcome. 

搖旗吶喊，民進黨台北市長參選人陳時中後援會志工展現團結氣勢，近來林智堅論文風波持續發酵，陳時中一句先相信同志，引來台北市長柯文哲大酸，「所以是選擇不相信台大嗎？」對手蔣萬安也批評，民進黨幫派治國，要說真話不容易。

蔣萬安說：「我選擇挺台大，民進黨包括陳時中選擇挺抄襲的林智堅，那我們就讓民眾自己來選，我要向王世堅議員說一聲尊重，在民進黨內很難說出堅持是非的話，因為民進黨現在幫派治國。」

陳時中則表示：「林智堅這個事情我已經講得很清楚，一向我沒有改變過，大家就是要用事實來證明，這都關係到每個人的名譽，很草率地去做評判，坦白講都有點不道德。」

陳時中也以柯文哲的葉克膜器官移植爭議為例，強調事關個人名譽，沒有明確證據就下結論是不好的事情。台北市副市長黃珊珊則酸，看到論文爭議，只想到要怎麼教育小孩。對於林智堅批中華大學學倫會先射箭再畫靶，台北市長柯文哲表示，就等中華大學的結果。

黃珊珊表示：「這個事情我看到只想到說，我要怎麼教育我的小孩，留給人民去公評。」

柯文哲說：「從現在開始每個民進黨的候選人，全部一個個拖出來問，你選擇相信自己同志還選擇相信台灣大學，每個都要表態，現在全台灣人民都在等中華大學的判決，反正他也拖不了一個禮拜，一個禮拜內應該會出來吧。」

首都選戰「三腳督」激烈，藍營參選人蔣萬安後援會榮譽總會長吳碧珠就直言，絕對不會出現棄保效應，也進一步分析25%的中間選民將是左右勝負的關鍵。
