The Taipei City Government has set up a special task force after they realized a newly-confirmed case works in one of the most iconic and busiest commercial buildings in the capital and is home to headquarters of major financial and corporate institutions including Pfizer, Apple, and E.Sun Bank. At present, the source of infection is unknown.
A family of four in New Taipei City was confirmed with COVID-19. Among them, an older sister works at the Deloitte Taiwan accounting firm in the Nanshan Plaza Building in Xinyi District. There are also many other companies in the building, including well-known pharmaceutical company Pfizer, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, and E.Sun Bank. Sharing elevators and entering and leaving are all possible ways of infection. In addition, the confirmed patient did not work at an assigned desk, making it harder for officials to carry out contact tracing. The source of infection is currently unknown.

The New Taipei case works in Taipei. Taipei City also announced the traffic footprints of her father and sister. She went to McDonald's Changchun store, 7-ELEVEN Sungsheng store, and Family Mart Changtung store. She also took the MRT to and from Jiangzicui, Ximen, Songjiang Nanjing, Taipei Main, and Xiangshan stations. 新北市一家四口確診，其中姊姊就在信義區南山廣場大樓的勤業眾信會計事務所工作，工作的大樓還有很多公司，包括知名藥廠輝瑞、Facebook、蘋果、台灣亞馬遜和玉山銀行等，在大樓裡共用電梯、進出，都是可能傳染途徑，再加上確診者無固定座位，都增加疫調難度，目前感染源不明。
新北市長 侯友宜表示：「在這個部分，到底感染源從何而來，都不斷在從疫調追蹤過程當中，匡列隔離裡面去做好分析以外，最重要還是要做好基因定序。因為這個確診個案，跨雙北的職場跟生活圈，所以到底感染源從何而來，我們還是要花一點時間，去做好基因定序。」
新北個案在台北上班，台北市也公布父親和姊姊的足跡，從3日到7日去過麥當勞長春店、7-ELEVEN松盛門市、全家長通店，以及搭乘捷運往返江子翠站、西門站、松江南京站、台北車站和象山站。
雙北不敢大意，積極擴大匡列採檢，由於姊姊上班的大樓內有許多公司，目前台北市政府成立專案，全力調查，相關數據還在統計中。
