Early Winter Vacation for Taoyuan Kindergartens 桃園八德某私幼傳確診 明起提早放寒假

The local epidemic continues to spread. The Taoyuan City Government confirmed there are currently at least three transmission chains in the city, with new cases reported for each after the second testing. It also announced that private kindergartens will start winter vacation on Jan. 27.

The kindergarten campus was empty. A pair of 6-year-old and 3-year-old sisters from a kindergarten in Bade District were confirmed with COVID-19. The Taoyuan City government conducted a full screening of the kindergarten on Jan. 25, including parents. A total of 664 people were tested and there were new confirmed cases.

Cheng Wen-tsan, Taoyuan Mayor: “Two children were diagnosed positive in the kindergarten. We conducted a full screening. Currently, 86 teachers and students are quarantining at home. We tested 664 people and report our results of newly confirmed cases in the afternoon.”

Currently, 22 students and 2 teachers tested positive from 17 schools in Taoyuan City. Cheng said that COVID-19 transmission among children can be quick as they do not get vaccinated. Public, non-profit, and school-affiliated kindergartens have all started their winter vacation early. He also announced that private kindergartens will be closed two days earlier and start their winter vacation on Jan. 27.

Cheng Wen-tsan, Taoyuan Mayor: “To make private kindergartens safer, the Education Department will notify all private kindergartens that winter break starts tomorrow. School fees will be handled in accordance with regulations.”

Citizen: “Yes, I think safety is more important. Anyway, let us know sooner so we can arrange our work as soon as possible. This will be better.”

In addition to the newly confirmed cases in the kindergarten, positive cases were also reported from the Taoyuan Farglory Free Trade Zone cluster. 2,789 people were tested for the second time, with previous negative tests turning into confirmed cases. The infection source of the Longtan hiker case is still being traced but there are also new confirmed cases from this hiker cluster. The city government has decided to set up additional screening stations in Bade and Longtan to expand testing, hoping to block the transmission chain as soon as possible.

 

園區空蕩蕩，八德區某幼兒園一對6歲和3歲姊妹確診，市府週二針對幼兒園進行全員篩檢外，加上家長共採664人，又有新增確診個案。

桃園市長鄭文燦說：「幼兒園確診的幼兒兩位，我們進行全員篩檢，目前居隔了86位師生，採檢了664位。新增的確診個案，我們一併下午說明。」

而根據統計，目前桃園市17所學校，共22位學生、2位老師確診。市長鄭文燦表示，幼兒間非常容易互相傳染，公幼、非營利幼兒園以及學校附幼都已經提早放寒假了，因此也宣布私立幼兒園提早二天，明天開始放假。

桃園市長鄭文燦表示：「為了讓私立幼兒園也更安全，請教育局通知各私幼，明天開始就可以放春假，按照規定來處理費用的問題。」

民眾認為：「我是覺得安全比較重要啦，對對對。反正能早點通知我們，我們就早點跟公司安排，這樣會比較好。」

桃園部分，除了染疫幼兒園新增確診個案，遠雄自貿港區部分針對2789人進行二採，也有出現陰轉陽確診個案。另外，龍潭山友染疫感染源還在追查，但匡列採檢後，也有新增確診個案。市府決定在八德和龍潭各增設一個採檢站，持續擴大篩檢，希望盡早阻斷傳播鏈。
