Taichung Mayor Candidates Release New Campaign Ads|台中"龍燕對決" 強打競選廣告拚有感

Taichung City mayor candidates from both camps released new campaign commercials with the big day approaching. The DPPs Lin Chia-lung said his efforts have helped the city improve bit by bit. Kuomintang candidate Lu Shiow-yen's ad, meanwhile, featured the party's Kaohsiung City mayor candidate Han Kuo-yu and New Taipei City mayor candidate Hou Yu-yih.


Democratic Progressive Party Taichung City mayor candidate Lin Chia-lung, who is seeking reelection, released three campaign commercials on the 19th. The 30-second commercials talk about how he has planted deep roots in Taichung and feature archive footage from his first mayoral campaign in 2005 and opening his city administration research office in 2006.

Elections are about selection and ability. We hope to return to the most core values of improving Taichung and having a serious mayor. We hope to showcase the visible changes to Taichung over the past four years and the improvements to Greater Taichung.

Apart from declaring his love for Taichung, the commercials also tout Lin's achievements as mayor. His opponent, the Kuomintang's Lu Shiow-yen, also released a new campaign commercial on the 19th.

The commercial features Lu, KMT Kaohsiung City mayor candidate Han Kuo-yu and KMT New Taipei City mayor candidate Hou Yu-yih issuing a joint call to voters to elect their "three-person collective" and give the KMT over half of the special municipalities.

This election is about the relationship between the people of Taiwan, the Democratic Progressive Party, and the Democratic Progressive Party administration. Winning over half of the six special municipalities is a benchmark. The people will only win the election if (the KMT) wins over half of the six. Cast your votes for our "three-person collective" and give (the KMT) over half of the special municipalities.

In the commercial, Lu stresses the importance of the KMT winning at least four of the special municipalities and asks Taichung residents to show their lack of confidence in the current administration with their votes. With just days remaining until the election, both camps are doing everything they can to win over voters.
