We live in a culture that champions success, but a museum in Sweden sets out to remind the public that failure is just as important, because while mistakes aren't the shortest way to success, learning from them is. Here's a look at the Museum of Failure. == SAMUEL WEST curator, the Museum of Failure== Put it onto your head, and you shock your face for fifteen minutes, everyday for three months. And then you turn as beautiful as Linda Evans from the hit show 'Dynasty'. An electric mask? Green Heinz ketchup? Fat-free Pringles? Colgate frozen lasagna? These creations along with dozens of others are featured at Sweden's newly-opened Museum of Failure. The shrine for rejected products is the brainchild of a 43-year-old curator Samuel West. ==SAMUEL WEST curator, the Museum of Failure== I hope that the individuals come who are not in the innovation business can look at these brand name products and companies here that failed when they tried something new. Many exhibits show companies attempting to break from what they're traditionally known for. There are Coca-Cola's 'BlaK' coffee beverage, Pepsi's 'Crystal' clear soda, and a cologne by a motorcycle manufacturer. ==SAMUEL WEST curator, the Museum of Failure== People, the fans, hated it. They said: 'You're Disneyfying our brand. Even one of the world's best-known businessmen makes an appearance. ==SAMUEL WEST curator, the Museum of Failure== It's a boring version of 'Monopoly,' it's simplified so stupid people can play it, but it's also horribly boring and the game is full of Trump's logo, pictures of Trump on the money. There is a collection of products that were meant to innovate, but failed to do so, including a Google Glass, a plastic bicycle and a two-wheel vehicle. West said many brands refused to donate their products. Despite that, some companies have booked large group trips to the exhibition, perhaps to learn from past mistakes. ==NICOLAI DE GIER Assoc. Prof., Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts== You're working on the edge of tomorrow, you are trying to put in new stuff, you're trying to give people not what they want, but what they didn't know they could get. And in terms of reaching that point, you have to try, you have to try things and when you try, you fail. The museum's motto is that learning is the only way to turn failure into success. It does offer some hope. An Apple 'Newton' personal digital assistant from 1993 is on display. The device paved the way for the iPhones and iPads millions use today. The museum sits in the Swedish town of Helsingborg. Entry is about US$11. TRANSLATED BY:SASHA CHIU
