Tank driver questioned as defendant / 戰車翻覆 初步確認2人溺水死.駕駛列被告　　　　　　　　　　

Pingtung prosecutors have started a three-pronged investigation into the CM-11 Tank incident on August 16th. After undertaking autopsies and investigating the tank as well as the scene where it fell into the river, prosecutors have identified drowning as the cause of death for the three soldiers killed in the incident. The tank driver, who escaped serious injury, is now being charged with negligence. On the evening of Aug. 16, two 120-ton trucks spent four hours removing the CM-11 tank from the stream. Pingtung prosecutors immediately started their investigation. The tank was removed to its army base, sealed up and video of the incident and recent inspections of the tank were taken for the investigation. The army dispatched naval personnel to the scene to search for missing parts of the tank and gun turret. The prosecutors investigation of the crash site included the terrain, the route, the angle of the road where the incident took place, the position of the overturned tank, the damage to the bridge. The prosecutors have questioned the driver who was slightly injured and shaken as a defendant. ==YANG WAN-LIPingtung Prosecutors Office Chief Prosecutor == On Aug. 16 prosecutors went to the 802 military hospital and questioned the tank driver surnamed Yang as a defendant in causing death by negligence. The tank captain, Wu De-wei was rescued but is in a level three coma. ==WU DE-WEI'S FATHER== Only his heartbeat is normal, for the rest, he is completely reliant on life-support ==HUANG SHU-FANG doctor treating Wu== The point is he drowned, his external injuries comprise a left forehead laceration bruised right thigh, swelling, he is on extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation, a dialysis machine as well as a respirator. After conducting autopsies on the three dead, the initial results show the causes of death as traumatic head injury in one case and drowning in the other two. ==CHANG CHIH-WEI'S FATHER== I want him to go peacefully and find his grandmother and mother The three dead are all from Kaohsiung. After the autopsies, their relatives went to the scene of the incident to call home their souls. The military said it would respect the wishes of the family regarding memorial services.
