KMT Candidate Lu Shiow-yen's theme: Taichung Plus|台中市之爭 盧秀燕提升級.林佳龍拚市政

Lu Shiow-yen is running for Taichung Mayor as the Kuomintang candidate. Her campaign theme is Taichung Plus. She says Taichung is in urgent need of a complete upgrade. But Taichung Mayor Lin Chia-lung says everybody can see that the city has made great progress.


Lu Shiow-yen, the KMT candidate who runs for Taichung Mayor, released her first campaign video. She said, in the video, that she aims to improve the city government's transparency, promote environmental protection, and to boost the city's economy. The three issues are also major challenge facing the current Taichung City government.

Sun, we need more transparency in politics. Air, give me clean air and the right to breathe it. And water, let us activate the economy and work hard to boost the city's economy.

Lu said that Taichung City government signed an invalid MOU with a German factory, and that the city has failed to improve its air quality as well as boost the economy. Meanwhile, the average monthly salary in Taichung is the lowest among the six municipalities. She said the residents of Taichung are unsatisfied with these issues and the city needs an urgent upgrade. Incumbent City Mayor Lin Chia-lung said that he is unaffected by those comments and will continue to promote his own policies.

My job as the mayor is to push forward policies. In terms of the mayoral election, we try to avoid interfering with our proceeding policies. So, the campaign actions won't go so fast.

Lin Chia-lung said that his team is gradually putting policies in place which Lou has mentioned in her political views. He said he leaves it to the residents to evaluate how well the city has done under his administration.
