In Jordan's capital Amman, one Jordanian man was killed and an Israeli and a Jordanian injured yesterday, in a shooting incident at a residential Israeli embassy building. The two Jordanians were working for a furniture firm and entered the embassy before the shooting. Few details have been revealed and what sparked the shooting is unclear. Security forces have sealed off the embassy and Israeli authorities evacuated staff. Three people were hospitalized, and one, a Jordanian man, eventually died from bullet wounds. Investigations were still in an initial phase. Israeli authorities have not commented on the incident and have imposed reporting restrictions. On Friday, thousands of Jordanians protested about Israeli installation of metal detectors at the Temple Mount site in Jerusalem, which is sacred to both Muslims and Jews. Jordan is the custodian of the site. TRANSLATED BY:CLARE LEAR
