TAIWAN SCRAMBLES FIGHTERS TO MONITOR CHINESE MILITARY PLANES |共軍10軍機繞台 國軍監控影像首度曝光

In recent months, China has held several military exercises in western Pacific. Last Thursday, China's Air Force flew 10 military aircraft over the Miyako Strait to hone their ability to operate far from home shores. Yesterday, Taiwan's Defense Ministry released 2 photos of China's warplanes. One depicts a Taiwanese fighter jet shadowing and monitoring a Chinese bomber. But when asked if Chinese aircraft entered Taiwan's defense air space, the Ministry gave no comment. China's People's Liberation Army Air Force flew 10 military aircraft over the East China Sea, which prompted Japan to scramble fighter jets in response. On Jul.21, Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense released photos of China's Xian H-6 bombers for the first time. One photo showed that the Chinese bomber was tailed by Taiwan's Indigenous Defense Fighter jet, numbered 1488. Although the pictures revealed that Chinese military aircraft entered Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone, the MND didn't confirm it. The Presidential Office said that the military and national security authorities have been closely monitoring China's military movements. ==LIN HO-MING spokesperson, Presidential Office== The MND has closely monitored the Chinese military movements. National security authorities have also taken measures to ensure national security. According to Japan's Ministry of Defense, China flew six warplanes over the Miyako Strait between Japan's islands of Miyako and Okinawa to the northeast of Taiwan. The other four traveled across the same path, but in an opposite direction. Over the past one year, the Chinese air force flew near Taiwan for several times. However, what is unusual about the flyover this time is that it had the largest number of warplanes, compared to previous missions.
