DOCTOR RESIGNS PUBLIC POST FOR BUILDING SOUTH LINK HOSPITAL|"台灣史懷哲"徐超斌辭公職 力催南迴醫院

Dr. Hsu Chao-pin, known as the only physician available to Taitung's Daren Township residents, has served years as the director at the Daren Township Public Health Center. He recently decided to leave his public post and concentrate on fundraising and building the South-Link Hospital. 15 years ago, Dr. Hsu Chao-pin returned to his hometown Taitung and has served as a public physician. The Southlink area has no hospital and Dr. Hsu has been on circuit doing his clinical services. The year when he got a stroke, he urgently felt a need to build a hospital in the area. But due to his public servant role, he has been restricted from promoting for foundation fundraising and works. Therefore Dr. Hsu is determined to leave his public post and concentrate on foundation and hospital construction affairs. ==HSU CHAO-PIN, Physician== My post as a public servant has restricted me so much from promoting the Southlink Hospital project. I feel being tightened up and frustrated. ==CHEN HSIN-HSIEN Deputy Dir.-general, Taitung Public Health Bureau== He submitted us his resignation in June, and the county government has already approved his resignation. He will be leaving on July 3. Dr. Hsu Chao-pin said, he has already submitted documents to the Ministry of Health and Welfare for establishing South-link Foundation. The proposal should be approved this year and then he will be legally raising NT$1 billion funds for building South-link Hospital. ==HSU CHAO-PIN, Physician== From now on till the year's end, it is the critical moment for South-link Hospital, whether or not it can successfully start construction. Therefore I need more time to focus on the foundation affairs. Many patients expressed their regrets over Dr. Hsu's departure from the bureau. But Dr. Hsu Chao-pin said, he will concurrently be a physician and provide circuit medical services. He urges the public to donate money and support the South-link Hospital project. TRANSLATED BY: ANTHONY LIN 有「台灣史懷哲」之稱，守護南迴線民眾的達仁鄉衛生所醫師、徐超斌這個月正式辭掉衛生所公職醫師，希望專心為他一手推動了七年的南迴醫院打拚。不過徐超斌也說，他會爭取南迴線巡迴醫療醫師的工作，希望繼續為排灣族鄉親看診。 15年前徐超斌回到家鄉擔任公職醫師，但南迴線沒有醫院，醫療工作讓徐超斌忙到左手左腳中風，自己也成為病人，更感受到南迴線不能沒有一所醫院。 但是因為他有公職的身分，不方便推動"醫療財團法人南迴基金會"和南迴醫院興建的募款和行政工作，於是這個月他下定決心辭掉衛生所公職醫師，專心為他一手推動的南迴醫院打拚。 ==徐超斌醫師== 我的公務人員這個身分的緊箍咒 讓我在推動南迴醫院的路上 充滿了綁手綁腳 那種無力感 ==台東縣衛生局副局長 陳信憲== 他是6月初向我們提出辭職 目前縣府已經准給他辭職令 他預計7月3號開始會離職 徐超斌醫師說，已經將成立基金會的立案資料送衛福部審核，今年應該會核定，就可以為興建南迴醫院欠缺的1億元經費合法募款。 ==徐超斌醫師== 從現在開始下半年度 是南迴醫院能不能順利 在年底動工的關鍵時刻 所以我需要花更多心思 在基金會事務上面 徐超斌醫師離開達仁衛生所，有許多病患很不捨，不過徐超斌說，他會暫時兼任醫師，再爭取巡迴醫療回鄉服務鄉親，也希望社會各界能踴躍捐款支持南迴醫院興建。 記者 章明哲 台東報導
