The government has launched inspections of four egg distributors following Taiwan's first ever case of dioxin contamination in eggs. At least 42 restaurants and breakfast stores have purchased products from these four companies. The Ministry of Education also found that one junior high school had used eggs with potential health hazard for a week. So far, almost 7 tonnes of eggs have been sealed off, and the authorities are doing whatever they can to figure out the source of contamination. These need to go to the back! This is a huge deal. This is also for your own good! While inspectors in Taoyuan were asking stores to remove eggs from questionable distributors, inspections were also carried out in New Taipei and Miaoli. They could have traced back to the root after they made that discovery. The owner stated that he kept the hens on the second floor, so it could not be the hens. He hoped that the government could figure out if it was the air, water, or feed that caused the contamination. ==CHIANG PEI-KEN Environmental Protection Bureau Director, Changhua County == We have excluded the possibility of an emission source in the neighborhood. We sampled the air and drinking water yesterday. The Agriculture Department also sampled the feeds to see if anything was added to the mix. In addition to requesting the four distributors to remove their eggs from the shelf, the FDA continues the investigation to see if any restaurant or school has used these eggs.
