The US president-elect Donald Trump will take office on January 20. In an exclusive interview with the Wall Street Journal, he stated that he might lift the sanctions on Russia. Regarding Trump's comment that he would not commit to the "One China" policy until he sees progress from Beijing in its currency and trade practices, China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded that the "One-China" policy is the "non-negotiable" political foundation for the US-China relationship, thereby calling upon the US "concerned party" to understand the sensitivity of the Taiwan issue.
In an exclusive interview with the Wall Street Journal, the US president-elect Donald Trump stated that he might lift the sanctions imposed on Russia by the Obama Administration after at least a period of time, saying, "If you get along, and if Russia is really helping us, why would anybody have sanctions if somebody's doing some really great things?"
His remarks implied that sanctions on Russia could be lifted if Moscow helped Washington in the war against Islamic extremism and in other matters. Although Trump admitted that Russia was behind election hacking and promised to complete within 90 days after taking office a major report on ways the US government prevent hacking, he still hoped to have a meeting with the Russian President.
Trump stated that One-China can be under negotiation if China allows US companies to compete by floating its currency. Before Beijing makes progress on its currency and trade practices, he will not be bound by One-China. However, he will not label China a currency manipulator the instant he takes office. Trump's choice for the Secretary of State Rex Tillerson compared China's island-building in the South China Sea to Russia's annexation of Crimea from Ukraine, which might reflect Trump's stance on China.

Like the US, the Chinese side has full right to conduct any kind of normal activities on its own territory within its sovereignty. It is above reproach.
Trump's trade protectionism might wage a trade war against China. Future US-China relations may be more challenging, presenting a difficult task for the leader of Taiwan.
