DOCTOR HEALS VETERANS THROUGH SONG AND NEW THERAPY|年輕醫師推增生療法 用音樂激勵病患

A young doctor at Hualien's Veterans retirement home is not only skilled in medicine, but he promotes therapy in this remote location so that elderly people with degenerative arthritis do not need to have painful surgery. He specially brought a new type of therapy, proliferation therapy, from the north so that elderly people can effectively relieve degenerative arthritis and other diseases but without surgery. ==CHAN YI-CHENG Doctor, Hualien Veterans Home=== It is different from other forms of rehabilitation therapy in that it does not actually inhibit inflammation, but does not rely on anti-inflammatory drugs either. Instead it stimulates tissue, then causes a little local inflammation and then the body repairs itself, auto-inhibits inflammation. Dr. Chan himself suffered from polymyositis, and even has a disabled status card, but he is not depressed. He believes firmly in study and the use of the proliferation therapy techniques. With his music and his gentle voice, he encourages patients to recover.
