On Oct. 5th DPP legislators passed an amendment within 60 seconds in a committee meeting to push through the "one rest day and one fixed day off" proposal. Yesterday, some lawmakers carried a motion to re-examine the meeting minutes of Oct 5th. However, convener of the meeting ignored the request and went on to declare the passage of the amendment confirmed, leading to scuffles and blows between DPP and KMT legislators. The Democratic Progressive Party mobilized early in the morning to successfully occupy the podium in the Legislative Yuan's Social Welfare and Environmental Hygiene Committee vote. Kuomintang legislators prepared to contest the podium again, all wearing blue. The KMT legislators then rushed to the podium to block the vote and got into a fight with the DPP legislators. KMT legislator Chen Yi-min was pushed by DPP legislator Su Chen-ching and sent to the hospital for medical treatment. KMT legislators criticized the DPP for betraying labor and having false representation by the committee and demanded a review.
