TEACHER DISCOVERS CHILD ABUSE IN HUALIAN|遭父虐打 男童辣椒膏療傷發炎揭露家暴

In Hualien, a father beat up his son who is only in 5th grade, just because he was hungry and looked for food in the refrigerator in the middle of the night. After the violent incident, the boy kept silent and tried to apply medication onto his wounds, resulted in infection and allergies. At last, the teacher at school found out and reported it to the police. Holding up photos of the boy who had been abused, the Hualien County councilor felt sorry. She could not understand why the hungry boy's father used a water pipe to beat up his hungry son just because of his son wanted to eat. ==YU SHU-CHEN, Hualien County Councilor== The child took food from refrigerator and ate in the midnight. He got beaten for that. The child said that his father ate one bowl of noodle and mom ate one bowl of noodle. There wasn't much left over for him, so he was hungry. The poor boy was beaten up and did not dare to say how painful he was. The boy used a herbal chili balm to soothe himself. His skin was ulcerated and needed medical attention. ==YU SHU-CHEN, Hualien County Councilor== The child robbed an herbal chili balm over his bruises and wounds, that made the skin itchy, sore and stinging. The skin finally ulcerated. Hualien police had stated, this child abuse case occurred on October 7. The fifth grader often scratches his back. His teacher felt something was wrong with the kid. ==SUNG PING-CHIN, Women Children Protection Team== Based on our initial investigation, the child's father admitted his behavior. (What time did he commit the abuse? For how long?) Regarding this part, we are still under investigation. (There were injuries on the child's eyes a year ago. That time the police was not notified?) Nothing at all, this is the first time we receive the call. The boy's parents were separated and the boy had transferred five elementary schools. The boy's father often is out of control when it comes to discipline his son. The county government had made emergency settlement for the boy, and prosecuted the boy's father for violating the Family Violence Protection Act and the Protection of Children and Youths Welfare and Rights Act.
