Dinosaurs have come back to life in the virtual reality of Berlin's Natural History Museum. Visitors can now take vicarious pleasure in the Jurassic period and think differently about the natural world. The dinosaur VR experience is just the beginning of attempts to further inspire wonder and curiosity in science and nature.
The giant Giraffatitan brancai dinosaur which lived around 150 million years ago now tramps Berlin's Natural History Museum. With the help of virtual reality, visitors can now get an idea of what the dinosaur looked like when it was alive. They can also gain a better understanding of other animals from the Jurassic period, as part of the museum's VR experience.

Yes, you feel like you are in that place. Like you are in… Right now I'm in a dessert with an animal. I don't know which animal it is. But it feels like you are in the place.
The museum's VR experience is created from Google technology. The Google Art and Culture project plans to digitalize museum exhibitions around the world. So far, 50 museums have participated in the Google project, with over 300,000 photos, documents and videos available to anyone having an internet connection.
==JOHANNES VOGEL, Director of the Museum of Natural History in Berlin==
Google and the 'Museum fuer Naturkunde' (Museum of Natural History) have the same mission: to organize the information of the world and to inspire the people's hunger for knowledge. We have the objects and we have the stories and we have the content. Google has the technology and the interest. A symbiotic and fantastic partnership.
When visitors put on VR goggles or use their smartphone in the museum, ancient creatures come to life. Those who are not able to visit Berlin's Natural History Museum can still have an access to its exhibition and VR videos online at the Google Art and Culture website.
