An apiary containing 60 beehives in Pingtung has been left unattended for over a week, after mudslides caused by Typhoon Meranti blocked roads leading to the farm. Just when the owner was about to give up on the bees, the neighbors came up with a brilliant rescue plan. Let's take a look. Local residents pulled up a giant rope, on the other side of the rope is a newly built ropeway conveyor. Residents use conveyor to transport things across the cliff. Typhoon Meranti made serious damage to the mountain and road foundation was washed away by heavy rainfall. There is an apiary has no one to attend to for a week. Beekeeper thought to give up his sixty beehives. However, ten local people helped to set a ropeway conveyor for rescuing the bees. ==CHEN YU-SHU, Chunrih Township Representative== No one dares to move those beehives. No one likes to be stung by bees, right? Using ropeway conveyor, the first issue is safety, the second is beehives won't get damaged. Stacks of beehives were safely conveyed across the 400-meter cliffs by an automobile. Bees were rescued. ==Beekeeper== I was about to give up, because roads were terminated. It was the township chairperson who told me about the ropeway conveyor. Actually I was reluctant to give up my bees. Because bees are my family, I could not bear to give up on them. Well, bees are safe now, but it's going to take a month to repair the road for villagers to get home.
