Wu Te-wei, who still remains hospitalized. Yet, later into the day, Wu died of multiple organ failure. President Tsai has asked the Ministry of the Defense to offer the families generous bereavement payment. The wife of the deceased Sergeant Chen Shih-kun burst into tears as President Tsai Ing-wen held her in her arms. On August 16, a CM-11 tank careered off a bridge, resulting in four deaths. Two days after the tank accident, President Tsai paid a visit of condolence to the grieving families in Kaohsiung.
