WRONG OSCAR ANNOUNCEMENT FOR BEST FILM|奧斯卡鬧出大烏龍 最佳影片頒錯對象
The 89th Academy Awards ceremony was held on the morning of February 27 Taiwan Time. Although La La Land did not break the record for most wins, it ended the night with six awards including best actress, best directing, and so on. However, a blunder by event organizers caught the attention of audience worldwide, who saw La La Land mistakenly announced as the winner of the year's best film. It turned out that Moonlight was the actual winner. ==WARREN BEATTY and FAYE DUNAWAY presenter == For Best Picture. La La Land. As the La La Land team was well into their acceptance speech, it came to light that the presenters had read the wrong envelope. ==La La Land Producer and WARREN BEATTY== Best Picture! Warren, what did you do? I want to tell you what happened. I opened the envelope, and it said: Emma Stone, La La Land. That's why I took such a long look at Faye and at you. I wasn't trying to be funny. The real winner was Moonlight directed by Barry Jenkins. The low-budget independent film deals with sensitive issues such as race and gender identity. The movie is an homage to Director Hou Hsiao-hsien's Three Times. ==BARRY JENKINS Best Picture Director award recipient== Even in my dreams, this could not be true. But to hell with dreams, I'm done with it because this is true. Oh my goodness! Mahershala Ali's portrait of a drug dealer who becomes a mentor to a youngster in this film won him the Best Supporting Actor. La La Land was the night's biggest winner. It won 6 of its 14 nominations. The film's 32-year-old director, Damien Chazelle, became the youngest-ever director to win an Oscar. Emma Stone also won her first Academy Award for her role in the film. ==EMMA STONE Best Actress award recipient== I still have a lot of growing and learning and work to do, and this guy is a really beautiful symbol to continue on that journey. And I am so grateful for that. Casey Affleck won the Oscar for Best Actor for his role as a father coping with a tragedy from his own past and grief in Manchester by the Sea. ==CASEY AFFLECK Best Actor award recipient== That means so much to me. Thank you. One of the first people who taught me how to act was Denzel Washington, and I just met him tonight for the first time. Thank you. In her third nomination, 51-year-old Viola Davis finally took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Fences. Iran's The Salesman won the Best Foreign Language film. Disney's Zootopia which delivers messages about racism and stereotypes won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film. The White Helmets was this year's Best Documentary (Short Subject).
