Wang Joins Shihlin Datong District Preliminaries 王世堅投入士林大同區初選 挑戰何志偉

Registration for the DPP's legislator primary began on March 20. Though it's recommended that incumbent city councilors should not abandon their posts to run as lawmakers. Taipei City Councilor Wang Shih-chien decided to join the race.

Wang Shih-chien, Taipei City Councilor (DPP): “I trust Lai but I do not believe in evil, so here I come!”

"Here I come" marks Taipei City Councilor Wang Shih-chien's official commitment on March 20 to joining the DPP Shihlin-Datong District legislator preliminary race. In 2008, Wang lost in his legislator race and thus he emphasized that he will climb up where he fell. Many Datong district village chiefs as well as Tsai-affiliated city councilors Hung Chien-yi, Lin Shih-tsong, and Liu Yao-jen all came out to support. Why did he not choose Zhongshan District? Wang noted that he had earlier supported Enoch Wu in his race there so he's not at liberty to run for legislator there as well; hence he chooses to challenge current legislator Ho Chih-wei and declined to accept the party's coordinating efforts as he is determined to run. Whether this may violate Chairman Lai's "integrity clause?" Wang sincerely urges his constituents to forgive him.

Wang Shih-chien, Taipei City Councilor (DPP): “The integrity clause is just a recommendation not mandatory, so I urge my constituents to allow me to switch (career) lanes.”

As DPP begins registrations for its legislator preliminaries on March 20, it is said that Legislator Yu Tian will not run for re-election. New Taipei City Councilor Peng Jia-yun also disregarded the integrity clause and announced that she will be joining the Sanchong District legislator preliminary race.

Peng Jia-yun, New Taipei City Councilor (DPP): “The integrity principle I adhere to is that I will not relocate my household registration to run for a position in another district; that is my attitude and accountability for my constituents.”

Not just Taipei, competitors all emerged in Banqiao and Changhua districts. In Banqiao, DPP will engage in preliminary polls from April 17 to early May. In difficult election districts or where there is no DPP legislator currently, the party will submit to the Nomination Strategy Committee as a reference in coordination.
 

民進黨台北市議員王世堅說道：「我信賴，但是不信邪，所以我來了。」

一句我來了，台北市議員王世堅20日正式登記投入民進黨台北市士林、大同區立委初選。王世堅2008年曾經參選立委失敗，強調自己從哪裡跌倒就從哪裡爬起來，大同區多位里長以及英系議員洪健益、林世宗、劉耀仁等人都到場力挺。只是為何不選中山選區，王世堅表示先前幫吳怡農助選，「媒人婆不能上花轎」，選擇挑戰現任立委何志偉，並且不接受黨內協調，心意已決，是否違反黨主席賴清德喊出的誠信條款？王世堅則懇請選民原諒。

民進黨台北市議員王世堅指出：「大局條款只是建議並不是強制，我懇請選民們准許我轉換跑道。」

民進黨20日開始進行立委初選登記，由於立委余天傳出不競選連任，新北市議員彭佳芸也沒有理會誠信條款，宣布投入三重區立委初選。

民進黨新北市議員彭佳芸表示：「我的誠信就是，不會為了位子去轉移選區，遷戶口，這個是我對在地負責任的態度。」

不只台北，板橋、彰化縣等選區黨內都傳出有競爭者，民進黨將在4月17日到5月初進行立委初選民調。艱困選區或無民進黨現任立委選區除外，則送提名策略小組作為協調時參考原則。
