Premier Su Tseng-chang is rumored to resign today, replaced by former Vice President Chen Chien-jen and former Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan as Premier and Deputy Premier. However, the KMT believes that Chen has become "sloppy" since joining the DPP and needs to answer to the people.
The DPP was defeated in the nine-in-one elections and the call for cabinet reshuffling continues. Print media reported that Premier Su Tseng-chang would formally submit his resignation to President Tsai Ing-wen on the 11th. His successor would be former Vice President Chen Chien-jen. Former Taoyuan Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan is expected to serve as Deputy Premier. Most DPP legislators agree with this change, believing that it can help usher in a new start.
Chung Chia-pin, Legislator (DPP): “A future team of former Vice President Chen and ex-mayor Cheng can be described as a combination of trust and harmony.”
Lai Hui-yuan, Legislator (DPP): “I think Premier Su is bound to duty. His stepping down is a show of the highest spirit of political responsibility.”
The DPP legislative caucus has not received any news on whether Su will resign on the 11th. In the meantime, KMT legislators held a press conference questioning Chen's previous support of Medigen's COVID-19 vaccine and criticized him for deviating from the script a lot after joining the DPP. KMT said they will strongly inspect Chen's performance record.
Tseng Ming-chung, Legislative Whip (KMT): “After the announcement, we hope that the public will come together carefully to check his previous policies and acts. The KMT will definitely do this.”
Lai Hsiang-ling, Legislator (TPP): “I don't think he's suitable due to his lack of administrative experience leading the cabinet and our country's major affairs.”
TPP legislator Lai Hsiang-ling even expressed concern that Chen lacks administrative qualifications and that Cheng will hold the real power behind his back. The Executive Yuan's latest response stated that the announcements to the public would not be delivered until the end of the Legislative Yuan session and Premier Su's meeting with President Tsai. The Presidential Office had no further statement either.
民進黨九合一選舉大敗，內閣改組聲浪持續。平面媒體報導，行政院蘇貞昌11日將正式向總統蔡英文提出辭呈，接任人選已鎖定前副總統陳建仁，再由前桃園市長鄭文燦擔任副閣揆。民進黨立委大多表示贊同，認為可以開創新局。
民進黨立委鍾佳濱表示：「如果未來是陳建仁前副總統，和我們的鄭文燦前市長，那可以說是信賴加圓融的組合。」
民進黨立委賴惠員認為：「我想他（蘇貞昌）責無旁貸，他的下台是一個展現政治負責的最高的一個精神。」
不過蘇貞昌是否11日請辭，民進黨團依舊表示沒有接到任何消息。但是國民黨團已召開記者會，質疑陳建仁先前護航高端，加入民進黨後表現荒腔走板，將會強力檢視。
國民黨立院黨團總召曾銘宗說：「公布之後，我們也希望全民一起來檢視他的荒腔走板的相關作法，國民黨團絕對會強力質詢。」
民眾黨立委賴香伶指出：「但是在就行政的歷練，以及做為國家大政的內閣的大家長，我是認為不太適合。」
賴香伶更表示，擔心陳建仁行政資歷不足，會是由鄭文燦來背後掌握實權。行政院最新回應表示，等待立院會期結束，蘇院長會和總統討論，再對外說明，總統府也沒有進一步說法。
