Wang, Wu Spend Morning Campaigning 唯一一公辦政見會1/4登場 藍綠積極備戰

Taipei by-election candidates Wang Hung-wei and Enoch Wu will take part in a policy platform presentation on Jan. 4.

The by-election for Taipei's third legislative district is just a few days away. KMT candidate Wang Hung-wei campaigned via motorcade for the first time on Jan. 3, accompanied by 18 city councilors.

DPP candidate Enoch Wu also campaigned via motorcade. KMT heavyweights Eric Chu, Hou Yu-ih, and Lu Shiow-yen have all publicly campaigned for Wang in recent days. Wu said acting DPP chair Chen Chi-mai and Vice President William Lai will spend the day campaigning for him on Jan. 4. Many are wondering if President Tsai Ing-wen will show up at the last moment.

The two candidates will take part in a policy platform presentation on Jan. 4. Wang's platform focuses on energy and the social safety net. She is also demanding that the government return its excess tax revenue to the people. Wu accused Wang of election manipulation and using "emotional-type" words to attack the government.   

Wang Hung-wei, KMT Legislative By-election Candidate: “Are they going to give anything? If so, how much? Will it be cash or stimulus vouchers? Right now, we know nothing. That's why we proposed returning the tax revenue to the people. President Tsai Ing-wen is deceiving the people and taking them for fools. ”

Enoch Wu, DPP Legislative By-election Candidate: “Councilor Wang opted to manipulate the election, opted to use emotional-type words to attack and abuse the government. I think this is highly inappropriate. Discussions about public policies should always be rational. I urge the government to share this NT$180 billion with the people.”

Wang is scheduled to attend an evening party on the by-election's eve, while Wu has spent the past several days pontificating at temples and on streets and will attend a social gathering on the evening before the by-election.

台北市立委補選進入尾聲，國民黨王鴻薇3日首度展開車隊掃街，也找來18位市議員助選，在各路口擔任分身爭取支持，倒數階段要用團體戰的氣勢拚勝選。

民進黨吳怡農一早也投入車隊掃街，跟對手互別苗頭。針對王鴻薇日前已有朱立倫、侯友宜和盧秀燕等藍營母雞站台，氣勢正旺。吳怡農也透露，代理黨主席陳其邁和副總統賴清德4日會擔任助選員，強化陸戰。不過外界更關切，總統蔡英文會不會在選前最後關頭現身？

至於唯一一場公辦政見說明會4日登場，藍綠陣營積極備戰，王鴻薇聚焦能源問題和強化社會安全網，持續緊咬還稅於民；吳怡農則反擊王鴻薇利用選舉操作，用情緒性字眼攻擊行政部門。

國民黨北市立委補選候選人王鴻薇表示：「到底要發不發、發多少，發現金嗎？發N倍券嗎？然後什麼都不知道，所以我才提出來，我們提出來還稅於民，結果蔡英文總統變還稅愚民，變成愚弄的愚。」

民進黨北市立委補選候選人吳怡農回應：「王議員選擇用選舉的操作，選擇用情緒性的字眼來攻擊來謾罵行政部門，我覺得這是相當不適當的。公共政策本來就應該理性討論，那我也呼籲政府針對如何讓1800億的資金，來讓全民共享。」

藍綠選前之夜，王鴻薇由黨部規畫造勢晚會凝聚選民熱情；吳怡農近日則不斷在廟口開講和街頭宣講，選前之夜則拍板舉辦同樂會與選民搏感情。
