Wang Leads Wu in Taipei Legislative By-election Poll 立委補選民調 王鴻薇領先吳怡農8個百分點

The legislative by-election in Taipei is to be held on Jan. 8 and recent poll showed that KMT's Wang Hung-wei is 8 percentage points ahead of DPP's Enoch Wu.

The DPP's Enoch Wu, who's running in Taipei City's legislative by-election, proposed the establishment of a territorial defense force with 80,000 to 100,000 volunteer militias. This force would be responsible for urban defense operations during wartime and supporting disaster rescue in peacetime. According to an NGO, Forward Alliance's survey, nearly 80 percent of the respondents expressed support to extend compulsory military service by six months to one year.

Enoch Wu, Taipei Legislative By-election Candidate (DPP): “Facing China's military threat, many countries have already been getting ready and staying vigilant. I think Taiwan should do the same. We are on the front line. So I support overhauling the military training program and properly extending the military service period.”

According to the latest poll released by TVBS, Wang Hung-wei of the KMT leads Wu by 8 percentage points. The KMT and DPP have recently focused on the topic of the relocation of Taipei's Songshan Airport. Wang criticized the DPP for not having any plans after more than six years of central government rule.

Wang Hung-wei, Taipei Legislative By-election Candidate (KMT): “The DPP has ruled the central government for over six years. They still don't have any plans for the airport. So we hope they don't choose to ignore this topic after the election is over.”

In response to the relocation and construction of Songshan Airport, Wu emphasized that he would not reduce routes or sacrifice service quality. However, Minister of Transport and Communications Wang Kwo-tsai said on the 13th that Songshan Airport faces many issues. Relocation cannot be considered solely from the perspective of urban development. There are still many factors that need to be considered in detail. 

北市立委補選，民進黨吳怡農拋出建立8至10萬人國土防衛部隊政見主張，戰時負責城鎮防衛作戰，平時支援災害搶救，也進一步指出，壯闊台灣今年8月的民調，對於義務役延長至6個月至1年，近8成受訪者都表示支持。

民進黨北市立委補選參選人吳怡農指出：「面對中國的軍事威脅，許多國家都已經開始警惕，也開始做好準備，我認為台灣也應該如此。我們就在第一線，所以我支持全面改革訓練內容，並且適當的延長我們的兵役制度。」

補選戰況根據TVBS發佈最新民調，國民黨王鴻薇支持度領先吳怡農8%，不過近來藍綠聚焦松機遷建議題，王鴻薇再批民進黨執政6年多來沒有任何規劃。

國民黨北市立委補選參選人王鴻薇表示：「在民進黨執政下6年來，6年多來沒有任何的一個規劃，所以我們也希望是真的，選舉的時候在高談闊論，但是絕對不能選後不聞不問。」

針對遷建松山機場政見，吳怡農強調不縮減航線、不犧牲服務品質，不過交通部長王國材13日表示，松山機場面臨的課題很多，無法單一從城市發展來講，還有許多因素需要詳細考慮。
