Four hikers heading up Nantou's Junda Mountain were stranded on the mountain. Luckily they were rescued after nearly a week.
Fortunately for these hikers, they are in good condition after being stranded on the mountain overnight. The four hikers from New Taipei City had to be escorted off the mountain by rescue workers after Danda River flooded. They headed up Nantou's Junda Mountain on the 17th for Yibahou Hot Springs. Inclement weather on the 21st prevented them from making their way back down the mountain. They were rescued on the 23rd.
Lin Cheng-yi, Chief, 3rd Fire Control Group, Fire Bureau, Nantou County: “Our search went from Danda River to the target area. The rescue workers had to travel upstream and then go around the canyon.”
In Taoyuan, the search for an education official surnamed Lee continued. Lee went missing two weeks ago while hiking the Central Range Point solo. Lee headed up the mountain on the morning of the 11th and was reported missing by his family on the 13th. The search for him continued by air on the 23rd.
Yu Yi-you, Chief, Second Corps, Fire Bureau, Taichung City: “The area higher up is all cliffs, and rescue workers don't have the technical ability or equipment to search up there. We are using aerial footage to rule out certain areas.”
The bureau says the area where Lee went missing is mostly schist with steep ravines. Twelve rescue workers, including firefighters and volunteers, are searching for him on the ground and by air.

受到颱風外圍環流的影響，丹大溪的溪水暴漲，四名登山客在救難人員的護送下，總算勉強通過。這支來自新北的四人登山隊，17日從南投信義的郡大山區上山，打算探訪伊巴厚溫泉。原本預計21日由丹大林道下山，天候變差受困。所幸都有登山經驗，23日全數脫困。
南投縣消防局第三大隊長林正宜說:「（我們）是從丹大溪直接要到達目標區，所以我們的搜救人員在這個過程都必須要溯溪，碰到一些峽谷的地方還要做高繞。」
而桃園市體育局一名李姓股長獨攀中央尖山，已失聯將近兩星期，台中市消防局還在搜救中。這名李姓股長11日凌晨，從台中和平的勝光登山口出發，12日傳出失聯，家屬13日通報搜尋，而台中市消防局表示，23日再度搭乘直升機繼續搜索行動。
台中市消防局第二大隊長余易祐提到:「上方都是屬於懸崖峭壁，可能人力的部分，沒有技術裝備，可能沒辦法去搜索，所以我們透過空拍機的部分，直接來針對困難地形來做排除的動作。」
台中市消防局表示，中央尖山大多是片岩地形，加上山溝陡峭，除了配合空中鳥瞰，地面人員也持續鎖定熱區搜索。目前包括台中市、桃園市消防局，以及民間團體共動員12人，希望在這波冷氣團來襲前盡快找到人。
