The number of confirmed Wuhan coronavirus cases has surpassed 30,000. There were also 69 deaths reported in Hubei on Feb. 6, bringing the global total to 636. One day later, it was reported that Li Wenliang, one of the eight doctors who blew the whistle on the threat of the virus, had succumbed to the disease. He was 34 at the time of his passing.
The person lying on the hospital bed and breathing with the help of a ventilator is Li Wenliang, one of the first people to blow the whistle on the threat posed by the Wuhan coronavirus. Li was an ophthalmologist at Wuhan Central Hospital. According to an announcement released by the Wuhan Municipal Health Commission and picked up by media outlets, Li died from the Wuhan coronavirus at 2:58 a.m. on Feb. 7.
On Dec. 30, 2019, Li posted about the epidemic situation on WeChat. The hospital subsequently called him in for questioning. He also received a warning from public security authorities and was forced to sign a statement admitting that he had spread false information online. He was diagnosed in January, and his parents were also infected and hospitalized for treatment. Li was 34 at the time of his passing.
In response to his death, the World Health Organization issued a statement praising Li's contributions to the fight against the epidemic. Although the number of confirmed cases in China fell on Feb. 5, a press conference on Feb. 6 warned that the peak season had not yet arrived. WHO officials mentioned Taiwan during the press conference, although it was lumped together with Hong Kong and Macau and classified as Chinese provinces outside of Hubei Province.
There has been that constant increase in cases in Hubei Province, but we haven't seen that same acceleration in provinces outside Hubei, and equally, we haven't seen that acceleration in Hong Kong, in Macau, in Taiwanese people either, so I think, again, we're seeing a relatively stable situation outside Wuhan, Hubei.

李文亮去年12月30號透過微信揭發武漢肺炎疫情，之後遭院方約談、還被公安警告被迫簽下訓誡書，承認在網路發布不實言論，他在一月也受到感染確診，他的父母也被感染，送進醫院治療。李文亮今天清晨病逝，享年34歲。
對此世衛組織發文，稱頌李文亮為疫情所做的貢獻，雖然5號中國確診病例數下降，但是昨天召開的記者會上，提醒醒現在還不到疫情高峰期，雖然會中世衛官員雖然明確提到台灣，但卻是跟香港、澳門一起，列為中國湖北以外的省分。
世衛緊急方案執行主任 麥克賴安表示：「湖北省的病例持續增加，但是湖北以外的省分，並沒有出現同樣的增長，像是香港和澳門，以及台灣，都沒有看到病例的增長，我們看到湖北武漢以外地區，情勢相對穩定。」
而根據湖北衛健委通報，6號新增69死，目前全球死亡人數累計636人，確診病例數突破三萬。
