The Sunflower Student Movement in 2014 had ended in bloodshed on March 23rd as the police forcefully removed the students from occupying the Executive Yuan. More than 40 people who are wounded had accused government officials for attempted murderer. The list includes the then president Ma Ying-jeou, Premier Jiang Yi-huah and the Chief of Police Wang Zhuo-jun. Most cases were closed with only one left. That is the TSU legislator Chou Ni-an accused the former Police Commissioner Huang Sheng-yong for attempted murderer. The Judicial Court of Taipei ruled Huang as innocent on July 18th. The whole case can be appealed.
The collegial panel thinks that the student protesters were not permitted to enter the Executive Yuan, Huang was performing his duty according to the law. Therefore, he was ruled innocent in this case. A few police officers had practiced violence which violated the rules of police duty and that the Taipei District Prosecutors Office should be doing the investigation. The cases that had involved government officers had applied for re-investigation at the Taipei District Prosecutors Office.
