Premier Orders Deportation of Chinese Scholar|中國武統學者李毅尋獲 今早遭驅逐出境

The China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification will hold an "Advocate for the 1992 Consensus and Support for the Peaceful Reunification" parade in Taichung on Apr. 13. Originally, the parade was to be followed by a speech by Chinese scholar Li Yi. However, the National Immigration Agency and Mainland Affairs Council said it was illegal for Li to give a speech in Taiwan and hence deported him early in the morning of Apr. 12.
There is enough proof that you are a threat to national security.
Early on the 12th, the National Immigration Agency located Chinese scholar Li Yi at a guesthouse in Nantou County's Jhushan Township. Li did not resist being taken and said he would immediately leave Taiwan.

Agency workers removed Li from the guesthouse and took him to Taoyuan International Airport, where he was put on a flight to Hong Kong. According to the agency, PRC nationals entering Taiwan on tourist visas are not permitted to partake in political activities or accept invitations to speak. The agency says the law was violated when the China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful National Reunification invited Li to speak at an upcoming event.
(He) entered Taiwan on a tourist visa on Apr. 9. After entering Taiwan, he took part in activities that were not allowed under his visa. After being notified of this, we revoked his visa and deported him in accordance with Article 16 of the "Regulations Governing the Entry Permission to Taiwan Area for the People from Mainland China."
According to an event flyer, Li was invited to Taiwan to speak on the topics of peaceful reunification and "one country, two systems."
Li's background has been questioned. He says he is a US-based sociologist, but he has talked and written about unification by force on several occasions. Before leaving Taiwan, Li maintained that he came to Taiwan as a tourist.
This was my fourth time in Taiwan. The first three times were for work and I didn't have time to be a tourist. I wanted to see the sights this time, but I still wasn't able to.
As the council followed all relevant regulations, its application for its 1992 Consensus rally was approved by the Taichung City Government. This immediately drew condemnation from some members of the public and the pan-green camp, with Premier Su Tseng-chang calling Li's presence in Taiwan a national security threat and ordering the National Immigration Agency and Mainland Affairs Council to find Li and deport him. The Mainland Affairs Council says any further applications by Li to return to Taiwan will be subjected to the strictest of reviews.

12號一早，移民署人員將李毅帶往桃園機場，搭機遣返香港，移民署表示，中國大陸人民以觀光事由來台，不得參加政治性質活動、也不得接受邀請發表演說，但李毅受中國和平統一促進會邀請來台演講，已經明顯違法。
移民署長 邱豐光表示：「申請來台觀光，並於4月9號入境，卻於入境以後，從事與許可目的不符的活動，本署得知以後，就依照許可辦法第16條規定，廢止其入境證並限令出境。」
根據主辦單位的宣傳單，李毅受邀來台，演講的內容有關和平統一和一國兩制台灣方案，李毅的背景經歷也讓不少人質疑，因為雖然他自稱是旅美的社會學家，不過卻多次發表武力統一台灣的言論和文章，而李毅在出境前，仍強調自己是來台灣觀光的。

台中市政府核准中國和平統一促進會申請的九二共識遊行，不少民眾質疑，也引發綠營反彈，行政院長蘇貞昌則認為李毅來台有違反國安之虞，指示移民署、陸委會查明，快速找到李毅、遣返出境，陸委會表示，未來對於李毅的來台申請，將會從嚴審查。
