So the battle is definitely on with the election being just less than two months away. For the very first time, Independent Tainan city mayoral candidate Mark Lin surpassed the Kuomintang's nominee, Kao Su-po, and moved into second place, according to the latest opinion poll. He is still 17 percent behind DPP's Huang Wei-cher, who now enjoys a supporting rate of 31 percent.
Independent Tainan City mayor candidate Mark Lin shot to fame with the phrase, "Crazy Friday." According to one media outlet's latest poll, the Democratic Progressive Party's Huang Wei-cher is holding on to first place in Tainan while Lin has moved past Kuomintang nominee Kao Su-po into second place.
In our own polls, I am just 4 percent behind Huang Wei-cher. Huang Wei-cher has (a support rating) of 31.9 percent and Mark Lin 27.7 percent.
The number of undecided voters is very high. Over 30 percent or 35 percent of voters are still undecided, so I think it's within the margin of error with two months to go until the election. It isn't unusual for numbers to fluctuate.
Huang garnered a support rating of 31 percent, followed by Lin with 14 percent and Kao with 12 percent. The support ratings of all other candidates combined totaled 8 percent. However, over 35 percent of voters said they are still undecided.
The pan-green camp's hidden votes actually belong to me, so I'm definitely not at the bottom. I'm currently first in the pan-green camp.
I am of course personally dissatisfied with how I've polled. We believe this is due to inadequate promotion.
Kao Su-po has fallen to third because of his negative campaigning. He won't be able to win voters over this way.
With over a third of voters still undecided, how the candidates adjust their campaign strategies moving forward may determine the outcome of the election.
