FORMER VICE PRESIDENT LI DIES AT AGE OF 94|前副總統李元簇昨晨辭世 享壽94歲

Former Vice-president Li Yuan-Tzu passed away at 4am yesterday at the age of 94. In his last years, he suffered from kidney-related complications but declined to receive life-sustaining treatment and had signed a do-not-resuscitate order. Li was described by former president Lee Teng-hui as the most low-profile vice president. After leaving office, he generally avoided media attention, except in 2015 when he endorsed PFP chairman James Soong for president. Former R.O.C. Vice-president Li Yuan-tsu passed away at age of 94 at his home in Miaoli's Toufen. Li's close friend and chief staff at the official residence Chen Chin-ting said that former Vice-president Li last year reminded others not to resuscitate him in case of emergency and he requested a tree burial at Jinshan District in New Taipei City. ==CHEN CHIN-TING Captain, Coast Guard Adm.
