TING HSIN TERMINATES INSTANT NOODLE BRAND MASTER KONG TAIWAN|滅頂效應 台灣"康師傅"元旦清算.解散

Ever since the tainted oil scandal back in 2014, Taiwanese consumers has boycotted against products made by Ting Hsin International Group which has also taken a toll on the sales of its subsidiary Master Kong instant noodles. Back then, Ting Hsin made a decision to terminate the instant noodle production lines in Taiwan. On Monday, Ting Hsin International Group confirmed that the board has decided to terminate its instant noodles brand Master Kong Taiwan on January 1st and completely withdraw from the Taiwan market. On Jan.1, Ting Hsin International Group announced Master Kong Taiwan's dissolution, saying that the instant noodles brand will completely withdraw from the Taiwan market. ==HUANG SHIH-TSUNG finance expert== Master Kong did not have a high market share in Taiwan. It only had a market share of around 6 percent or 7 percent during its best times. Therefore, Taiwan market is not indispensable to them. In 2012, Ting Hsin International Group made a contract with the Wei Chuan Foods Corp., authorizing it to produce Master Kong instant noodles in Taiwan. Back then, the company used a low-price strategy to grab market share, selling its instant noodles at NT$16. However, in 2014, after a series of tainted oil scandals sparking a boycott of Ting Hsin food products, Master Kong stopped distributing its instant noodles in Taiwan. ==LIAO CHIH-CHIANG Wei Chuan Douliu Plant== At Wei Chuan Douliu Plant, we mainly produce coffee and soybean milk. We don't produce any instant noodles at all. As for Master Kong's China business, it is also facing challenges over fall in instant noodles revenue. In the first three-quarters of last year, its net profit plunged 37.85 percent to US$213 million. However, Ting Hsin International Group said that the dissolution of Master Kong Taiwan will not affect its business operations in China and the company's TDR trading on the Taiwan Stock Exchange. TRANSLATED BY:ARIEL HSIEH 在大陸經營康師傅品牌、成為對岸食品龍頭的頂新集團,2002年還曾以鮭魚返鄉之姿,大舉回台投資,除了回台銷售康師傅泡麵、也在台發行TDR、入主台北101,但就在昨天,台灣康師傅傳出解散,正式退出台灣市場。 ==財經專家 黃世聰== 事實上在台灣市場 並沒有獲得非常好的市佔率 頂多最高峰的時候 有到6%、7%左右的水準 所以其實台灣市場 對康師傅本身來說 其實是一個可有可無的市場 頂新集團發出聲明稿證實,台灣康師傅過去業務只是進口並出租生產設備,且因台灣早已不再生產銷售康師傅泡麵,董事會決定依法辦理公司解散清算事宜。事實上,台灣康師傅2002年起授權味全在台製造、銷售泡麵,並以1碗16元的低價策略搶攻台灣市場,不過2014年,頂新在國內爆發黑心油品事件,儘管前董事長魏應充再三道歉,還是無法挽回消費者的信心,而就在宣布解散後,曾代工生產康師傅的味全斗六廠上午運作正常,自從前年油品事件後就沒有生產泡麵,也沒有出現勞資糾紛。 ==雲林縣勞動條件科長 廖致強== 斗六味全這邊 目前是以生產咖啡跟豆漿為主 沒有生產任何泡麵 而康師傅不僅在國內因爆發油品爭議慘遭滅頂,中國市場也由盛轉衰,在速食麵領域,銷量跌回五年前,根據港股掛牌的康師傅財報顯示,去年前三季,康師傅速食麵事業營收僅25.11億美元,比前年同期衰退約12%。僅管中國市場連帶受影響,但頂新集團強調,台灣康師傅的解散,與母公司康師傅-DR無關,並不會影響在台的掛牌。 記者 綜合報導
