Airlines Cancel Flights as Typhoon Trami Heads to Japan|潭美颱風襲日 那霸機場逾198航班停飛

Typhoon Trami is nearing Japan and will get close to the Okinawa area on Sept. 29. The typhoon may then hit Honshu with its complete storm circle and other Japanese islands as well. Taiwanese tourists that are headed to Okinawa for travel should confirm their flights whether it will fly as scheduled before leaving.

Both eastern and western Japan have been affected by autumn rains already. Now with the addition of the torrential rain Typhoon Trami brings, it could result in over 300 millimeters of rain in Kyushu and Shikoku. Many airlines preemptively announced the cancellation of flights on Sept. 28: Nippon Airways announced the cancellation of 91 domestic flights flying in and out of Naha on the morning of Sept. 28, while Japan Airlines also canceled 15 domestic flights and Peach Aviation announced the cancellation of 36 domestic and international flights on Sept. 28 and 29.
