When asked about former DPP Candidate Annette Lu no longer running for Taipei mayor, incumbent Mayor Ko Wen-je says that she's free to make her choice, and refrains from further comment. On the other hand, DPP Candidate Ting Shou-Chung criticized Ko for leaving too much debt for future generations by giving away subsidies for elderly citizens.
Recently, DPP Mayoral Candidate Ting Shou-Chung criticized incumbent mayor Ko Wen-Je for leaving too much debt for future generations by giving away subsidies for elderly citizens. Ko responded to Ting's claim head on.
I'm not willing to make statements just to please the public. We are professionals, we were even professors in colleges, and academically speaking, many issues have clear cut answers, it's either yes or no. (Ting Shou-Chung) shouldn't have sold his conscience for votes, I feel this is very irresponsible.
Asked about former DPP Candidate Annette Lu no longer running for Taipei mayor, incumbent Mayor Ko Wen-je says that she's free to make her choice, and refrains from further comment. Asked about a recent survey, of which the results show that Ko has a great chance running for President and that 40 percent of public would support him if he runs, Ko did not answer directly.
Things change way too fast, there's no need (to think far ahead). I don't have a plan (to run for president), nor is it on my thoughts.
DPP Secretary General Hung Yao-Fu, who is also Pasuya Yao's campaign manager, recently said Ko will be the "the most powerful man in Taiwan" if he beats the other two parties and gets reelected for mayor. Ko responded by stressing that he will only focus on the tasks at hand.
