A series of car bomb explosions rock the Syrian capital Damascus on Sunday. The incident has killed at least 20 people and wounded a dozen more. The facade of this building in Tahreer Square in central Damascus is badly damaged, and vehicles parked in the area are mangled. Syrian police had been chasing three suspected car bombers trying to enter the capital. The police stopped and detonated two of the vehicles, but the third driver managed to carry out the attack at the square. Syria is in the midst of a six-year-long civil war. Damascus, the country's capital, has been mostly under government control and such attacks are relatively rare.
