TWO-WEEK BOLIVIAN PROTEST AGAINST CORRUPTION CONTINUES|玻利維亞反貪腐封路抗議 持續逾半月

發布時間: 更新時間:
Following an extended civil protest against corrupted officials, Bolivian police yesterday used tear gas to disperse demonstrators blocking an international highway to clear way for traffic. At least 300 Camiri residents have blocked the highway that connects Santa Cruz with neighboring countries for two weeks. They have been demanding that the local mayor and seven council members resign over corruption charges. But a top government official said on Monday that any road blockade carried out less than two years into the mandate of an elected government would be considered a coup attempt. At least 33 activists have so far been detained. TRANSLATED BY:JEFF CHANG
