YUNLIN COUNTY ENSURES TRADITIONAL CULTURE TO PASS ON HERITAGE|文化傳承 雲縣府授證6藝師4技術保存者

Yunlin County has many temples, rich traditional art and skills. Since 2013, the county government has recognised arts and skills preservation and heritage among traditional artists. On May 26, the Yunlin County Cultural Affairs Department held a charter ceremony, hoping that each artist would continue their cultural heritage so that more people would come to understand the traditional art of Yunlin County. The Yunlin County Shuilin Township painter Hung Ping-shun started to paint temples as a young man and has now done so for fifty years. He is now a master painter and is also part of Yunlin County's recognised cultural heritage as a traditional painter. ==HUNG PING-SHUN traditional painter== Many traditional techniques require you to have an interest in fine art and if you do this then you will progress faster. There are many temples in Yunlin County and each has different art traditions. In Huwei there are hand puppets, in Beigang there are many master craftsmen, there are temple disciples' traditions and traditional processions. The Cultural Affairs Department said each of the recognised artists and practitioners who preserved traditional skills possessed important cultural heritage for the county. The most important motive was to continue to pass on the heritage so that more people could come to know Yunlin's local art.
