YOUNG FARMERS' NEW CONCEPT ABOUT LAND AND CROPS|青年學務農 體會盤中飧粒粒皆辛苦

As young people move to the cities to study or work, the population in the countryside is ageing. Chen Chih-lin from Hong Kong moved on his own to Taiwan in 2015 and learnt about farming in Hualien's Yuli. There are two young Taiwanese, Hsu Ya-ching and Chung Chuan-fen who have also become farmers. Chen Chih-lin from Hong Kong once went to Myanmar to learn about agriculture and then came to Hualien County's Yuli to advance her studies. She wants to return home with her experience some day. Her life in Taiwan has led her to appreciate the relationship between land and people as she wonders about its future development. ==CHEN CHIH-LIN Yong Farmer== I used to think agriculture has nothing to do with me. What I didn't realize was that as consumers, we are also part of the equation. We should care more about agriculture, or we will be living with the consequences. Young people in Taiwan have also thought about this problem. Hsu Ya-ching from Changhua and Chung Chuan-fen from Taoyuan came to Meinong and labor under the hot sun every day to get used to agricultural machines. They want to show that young people have a new generational concept of farming. ==CHUNG CHUAN-FEN Yong Farmer== Our approach would be considered "lazy" by many. If you look there, you will see lots of weeds. But that's diversity. Our farmland is very ecologically diverse. ==HSU YA-CHING young farmer== Lots of local young people have left, and now that we are here, their parents treat us like their own children. They often ask if we have enough food, and they try to pass on their experience and share local stories with us. If young people take over the future of Taiwan's agriculture, they say that farming is not just a job, but reflects a philosophy of life. They need to learn to bend over, learn to plant, and ultimately receive the best gift of nature in harvest. TRANSLATED BY：JEFF CHANG 年輕人紛紛到都市求學就業，台灣農業人口面臨老化問題，未來、務農的使命要交棒給誰?來自香港的陳芷琳，2015年獨自到台灣，在花蓮玉里學習耕作；另外還有兩位台灣年輕人，許雅菁及鍾傳芬、落腳美濃，展開務農生活。 曾到緬甸學習務農，再到台灣的花蓮玉里學習耕作，來自香港的陳芷琳想著，有一天要把這些經驗，帶回家鄉發揚光大，尤其在台生活期間，感受到土地和人民的熱情，省思著農業在未來的發展空間。 ==務農青年 陳芷琳 == （之前)以為我們跟農業 是很遠的距離 可是沒有發現 其實我們是當中那個 消費的那一群 我們是應該去 去關心他(農人們)的問題 不然以後的後果 就是我們來承擔 在台灣的香港人擔憂農業的未來，在地年輕人早就意識到！許雅菁和鍾傳芬，分別來自彰化與桃園，她們來到美濃，每天在烈日下、不熟練操作著耕機，任由農作恣意生長，隨意的耕作方式，展現年輕人新一代的務農思維。 ==務農青年 鍾傳芬== 我們的田就是 大家所謂的懶人農法吧 就是大家看到後面 就是滿滿的都是草 但是我們的整個田裡面 其實是非常非常地生態豐富的 ==務農青年 許雅菁== 農村的小孩子很多出去了 可是我們現在在這裡 然後他們好像把我們 當成他們的小孩子一樣 然後會常常來關心我們說 你有沒有吃飽啊 他也會跟我們講一些 他種植的經驗 或者是跟我們分享說 美濃的一些事情 台灣農業的未來，有年輕人接棒、投入農作，他們說，務農不只是一分職業，而是體現一種生活哲學，學會彎腰、學會栽種，最終才能接收、大自然最棒的贈禮。 記者 綜合報導。
