693 KILOS OF HEROIN SEIZED FROM FISHING BOAT OFF KINMEN|破獲693公斤海洛英毒品案 史上最大宗

The Kaohsiung Prosecutors Office intercepted a Kaohsiung fishing boat Yung Fu Sheng near the territorial waters of Wuqiu, Kinmen and found 1,800 heroin bricks on the deck and the top of the boat. The heroin weighed 693 kilograms and valued at NT$10 billion, making it the largest maritime seizure of heroin in recent years. Coastguards and investigators were unloading drug bricks off from the fishing vessel. A total of 1,800 heroine bricks weighing 693 kilograms were found, it is a record-breaking drug smuggling in history. Prosecutors Office== This smuggling case suspects used fishing vessel's dock fenders to package netted drug bricks. They placed fenders over deck and roof. This is something unique. Kaohsiung Prosecutors Office stated, the vessel left Kaohsiung harbor for more than a month, investigators suspected the vessel may had sailed to Southeast Asia for drug transactions. Prosecutors Office== Transporting first-grade drugs is a heavy offense. Suspects may flee and act in collusion, therefore it was necessary to detain the suspects. The four sailors are approved for detention by court. It remains uncertain that those heroine bricks were to transport to other countries or to sell in Taiwan. Captain Tsai is under interrogation, and prosecutors continue to investigate sources of money and heroines.
