NO MORE PLASTIC BAG SALES FOR NEW TAIPEI CITY SUPERMARKETS|新北市大賣場 5/1起不賣購物塑膠袋

According to the Environmental Protection Administration's statistics, Taiwan's annual use of plastic bags is averaging at 18 billion, which means that each Taiwanese uses at least two plastic bags per day. Plastic bags remain the top on the chart of items collected in all beach cleaning campaigns. Starting from May, New Taipei City will work with the four major supermarket chains to reduce the use of plastic bags by putting a stop to selling shopping plastic bags. Many people are used to buying plastic shopping bags for the items they purchase at hypermarkets. Starting from May, however, major hypermarket chains in New Taipei City will stop selling plastic shopping bags. ==MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC== Well, sometimes the things we want to buy may be too big to be put in the bags we brought from home.
