TSAI: ZERO TOLERENCE OF VIOLENCE TO DELAYING REFORM|"不放任暴力拖延改革" 總統宣示決心

Amid controversy and protest surrounding the pension reform, President Tsai Ing-Wen spoke out through a press conference at the Presidential Office, where she pledged to see the reform through and condemned the violence displayed outside the Legislative Yuan. President Tsai Ing-wen was to deliver her speech to DPP's Central Standing Committee, however she later decided to further illustrate pension reform at the Presidential Office. President Tsai emphasized that the issue of pension reform has been discussed thoroughly with the public and now is the final critical moment for the reform. Tsai showed her determination for pension reform and said with gravity to violence. ==TSAI ING-WEN R.O.C. President== We absolutely are not tolerant to those who use violence for delaying steps on pension reform. Therefore, this morning (protesters) used violence to block legislators, officials and relevant staff from entering the Legislative Yuan; for such deviant behavior, the law enforcement will definitely punish them with severity. President Tsai demonstrated her hard core on anti-pension reform, in the same time she emphasized the reform must succeed. ==TSAI ING-WEN R.O.C. President== As president, I want to say my appreciation to military, civil and teaching personnel. Their understanding has created rooms for pension reform, making young public personnel see hopes in the future. I believe in this last critical moment, every one of them will once more help this country. As to the anti-pension reform protesters, the National Pension Reform Committee Vice-chairman Lin Wan-I urges protesters not to use violence, or supports from the public would be lesser. ==LIN WAN-I Vice-chairman, Nat'l Pension Reform Committee== Committing violence or done something unlawful, supports from the public will be much less. Supports for anti-pension reform should be less and less. Lin admitted, completing all pension reform bills before the end of May is quite a pressure. Completion will only be possible if the Legislative Yuan calls for extended sessions. Lin urges the public be rational to different pension reform versions, adjustment possibilities will remain throughout reviewing sessions in the Legislative Yuan.
