In US politics, president-elect Donald Trump has been selected as 2016's person of the year by Time Magazine. Meanwhile, America's ambassador to China has been named. Iowa Governor Terry Brandstad was tapped Wednesday by Donald Trump to represent the United States in one of its most complex and increasingly contentious foreign relationships. One can make a very strong argument that every year that person deserves consideration. But it's also the manner in which he did it, which is essentially exploding every traditional path to the presidency. Time believes that Trump is leading a global trend of populism and has reshuffled the American political order and overturned traditional values. However, governing a divided America will also be his greatest challenge. Trump has appointed retired general John Kelly as the head of Homeland Security Department. This raised concerns that Trump has surrounded himself with military personnel.
